National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma or B.Bibl. Degree/ B Tech (NQF Level 6) in Library and Information Science / Studies or Bachelor of Information Sciences with at least 1 to 2 years working experience in a Library and Information Service field. Knowledge of public service legislation, policies, and prescripts. Basic knowledge of library and information science procedures and processes. Good computer, organising, communication, and report writing skills, excellent human, and interpersonal relations. Sound knowledge of stakeholders. Understanding of at least four Eastern Cape official languages will be an added advantage. A valid driving license.
DUTIES :
Conduct awareness campaigns, reading programmes and promotion of library use to all communities. Conduct stock control of all library material. Manage, receive and reconcile library material from the district office. Attend to user needs. Compile monthly user statistics and reports. Participate in drafting of the business plan. Manage library assets and resources. Implement annual recovery of monies. Establish and sustain library structures. Manage mini-lib services. Supervise staff.
