We are seeking an experienced and certified Linux System Engineer to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments and associated tools such as Red Hat Ansible and Satellite. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our Linux-based systems, while also contributing to automation and modernization efforts across the environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.
Minimum of [4] years’ experience working with RHEL (versions 6 through 9).
Strong hands-on experience with:
Red Hat Ansible Automation
Red Hat Satellite
RHEL systems administration and troubleshooting
Proficient in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and using CLI tools.
Familiarity with virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM, or similar).
Understanding of networking concepts and security principles in a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, configure, and deploy custom Red Hat servers tailored to business and project needs.
Build and maintain Virtual Machine (VM) templates for consistent and rapid deployment.
Monitor the RHEL environment, perform proactive health checks, and resolve system issues to ensure high availability.
Apply critical patches, firmware updates, and security configurations in line with compliance and security standards.
Manage and automate tasks using Red Hat Ansible to streamline configuration and deployment processes.
Administer Red Hat Satellite for patch management, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Networking to ensure systems integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and updates.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in hybrid Linux environments.
Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Puppet.
Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
