Logistics Specialist - Midrand at Rectron South Africa

• To administer and coordinate the imports, exports, local and RTT process and procedure in an effective and timeous manner

Education/Qualification

• Matric
• National Diploma in Logistics (preferred)

Experience (experience required for the job)

• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in an imports and exports environment
• Strong Admin Acumen

Primary Objectives:

• Ensure accurate receipt and printing of pre-alerts, invoices and packing Lists from the suppliers and to provide tariffs on the invoices, any extra certification for customs clearance, Border Police and the NRCS
• Ensure that all invoices comply to customs requirements
• Comply to our SARS Preferred Trader requirements.
• Provide and complete clearing instructions to the clearing agents for imports.
• Check that all necessary Certification Documentation required for Imports, ie. NRCS LOA, Icasa are in place and attached to the Clearing Instructions
• Understanding of Incoterms
• Updating NRCS Levies
• Excellent Record keeping of documents received from the various agents, as well as of all shipments on excel for both Air and Sea mode, either online or via email
• Manage and ensure the right mode of transport is used, by liaising with the Product Managers
• Follow up with suppliers on orders from manufacturing, estimated time of departures, estimated time of arrival, delays, shortages etc.…
• Tracking and tracing shipments
• Record keeping
• Supply Product Managers with information on their orders, ETA’s and status of their shipments frequently and as updates happen
• Accurately load Purchase Notes on the System to capture Supplier Orders – Internationally and Local
• Ensure pricing on the Supplier Invoices and the Product Managers Management Pricelist is correct.
• Ensure that the correct pricing is maintained on Purchase Orders when the stock is delivered
• Ensure that the stock arrives at the right time, right price.
• Request quotes for imports and exports
• Complete the scanned stock and timeously inform the relevant departments and branches on stock availability.
• Maintain and build relationships with different clearing Agents on Imports
• Follow up on outstanding paperwork for any Imported Deliveries
• Capture documents correctly prior to handing over to Finance
• Conduct Costing Exercise for various Product Managers as and when required
• Update Audit Costing Sheet daily
• Capture a monthly Stock in Transit Report for Finance
• Complete Supplier Recons for Finance
• Manage Exports for Africa Sales Team
• Manage Courier queries
• Send ICN details to Finance for foreign payments
• General filing and maintenance
• All tasks assigned by reporting line managers.
