Maintenance and Turnaround Planner at Air Liquide

The Maintenance and TAR Planner within the ALLISA organization is responsible for providing continuous input and support into maintenance, shutdown/turnarounds and project planning activities, to follow the ALLISA Work Management process and instruction and to apply planning processes at an operational level.

Operational Effectiveness:   

• Manage multi-disciplines’ planning activities, ensure the execution of general plant maintenance, turnarounds (TAR’s), projects and complex jobs.  
• Perform a gatekeeping function in the Work Management process by evaluating and verifying correctness of service requests and taking action on deviations. 
• Ensure work package readiness for execution by arranging permits and getting confirmation of availability of equipment, material/spares, services and resources. 
• Draw up a network diagram, create a Bar/Gantt chart and obtain approval for program execution. 
• Draft a current and updated task list for strategies and repetitive maintenance work.
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to the ALLISA holistic planning systems.
• Interpret codes and regulations, read ISO drawings, Instruments/Mechanical/Electrical Flow Diagrams and other Technical drawings. 
• Contribute to the TAR program validation and provide support maintenance and compile TAR scope list.  
• Monitor and coordinate execution of work activities and note deviations from program and day-to-day /turnarounds (TAR’s).  
• Ensure contingency process, leak seal process and RA process compliance. 
• Ensure visibility of statutory equipment due/outstanding list with actions for adherence to legal compliance.

• Establish and maintain an interdependent and professional working relationship with stakeholders.
• Understand customer needs and suppliers contributions to drive operational results in the best interest of ALLISA.  

Cost Management:  

• Provide expertise and experience to realize cost savings within the planning/scheduling and execution of Day-to-Day, turnarounds (TAR’s) and projects work. 
• Ensure a reduction in  maintenance cost and optimisation and a reduction in equipment down time.  

Innovation: 

• Identify and implement value adding initiatives.
• Provide new ideas, thinking and approaches adopted and supported by the business including operations and other related services or parties.

• Support and execute the ALLISA SHE strategy to achieve zero harm.
• Ensure that plans are executed and team objectives are achieved consistently in a safe work environment. 
• Grade 12 with Maths, Science, English 
• NQF 4  Artisan Trade Qualification  OR  National Diploma Engineering (with the NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification) 
• Project Management Qualification (preferred)  
• A minimum of five (5) years experience in an operational maintenance environment
• Experience in maintenance planning and work management
• Proven track record of experience in Plant Operations
• Knowledge of microsoft project (must)
• Knowledge of MAXIMO (preferred)
• Knowledge of procurement management systems
• A strong knowledge and understanding of the Work Management process, general Maintenance, turnarounds (TAR), Maintenance planning, equipment, project management and shutdown procedure management
• A strong knowledge and understanding of SHERQ, SAP, Navision, MOR, CMMS and the Google suite of products
