    Maintenance Assistant Gr1 Electrical (106150)

    Short Description / Purpose of Job

    A Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance team by providing effective equipment maintenance assistance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, to increase stability and maintain sustainability of equipment

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Safety procedures, works instruction, emergency preparedness
    • Hand tools (Drill, screw driver, grinder, paint brush, portable tools)
    • Use trade related hand tools safely
    • Dexterity (Handyman skills)
    • Interpret written information
    • International rigging hand signals
    • Working at heights
    • Working in confined spaces
    • Identification of lifting tackle
    • Inspect lifting tackle pre and after use, and report defects
    • Collecting equipment from stores
    • Load rigging equipment onto transport
    • Off load rigging equipment on site
    • Assist with guiding crane into plant, Set up the crane
    • Attach rigging equipment to plant equipment
    • Control load by using guide ropes
    • Keep people out of barricaded areas, assist in removing rigging equipment from plant equipment, Pack up crane
    • Guide crane out of plant
    • Clean up site
    • Load rigging equipment onto transport
    • Off-load rigging equipment at stores
    • Identification of lifting machines
    • Inspect lifting machines (priruse) and report defects
    • Read and interpret load charts
    • Choose correct crane for lifting task
    • Identify type of load (normal I abnormal I hazardous)
    • Load equipment correctly on truck
    • Identify the correct securing method and equipment
    • Plan appropriate route Identify correct equipment
    • Select correct slinging method for simple routine task
    • Select correct rigging equipment for simple routine tasks
    • Conduct simple, routine rigging tasks
    • Remove, transport and install non-complicated valves identified by the Group Leader
    • Remove, transport and install non-complicated pipes and lines identified by the Group Leader
    • Remove. transport and install non-complicated domes identified by the Group Leader
    • Operate pendant controlled overhead cranes
    • Perform tasks using a forklift truck, Carry Deck crane
    • Throwing catalysts
    • Use 2-way radios as a form of communication when performing rigging tasks

    MANAGEMENT RESULTS

    • Participates in root cause analyses and provides feedback to RCA teams.
    • Carries out work according to planning
    • Participates in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments.
    • Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress
    • Applies and adheres to safety standards and requirements to support safety.
    • Maintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures.
    • Identifies faults by using applicable methods to ensure equipment availability.

    • Attends training courses and seminars as per training matrix to improve competency and skills.
    • Identifies personal training and development needs and incorporates into PDP with group leader approval.
    • Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines.

    • Performs plant inspections and repairs as required to ensure equipment reliability.
    • Provides adequate feedback to customers on work progress.
    • Conducts My IMS inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainability.

    INNOVATION AND IMPROVEMENT RESULTS

    • Ensures the correct history feedback is captured to improve renewals/upgrades and critical spares are replaced
    • Attends and interacts in toolbox talks to improve plant safety.
    • Attends and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stability.
    • Soot continuous improvement opportunities in own work area
