    Process Engineer I (106424)

    Short Description / Purpose of Job 

    The Process Engineer I supports the execution of engineering, design, and technical solutions development in accordance with sound, established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements. Work is carried out independently in an agile manner according to approved work process, with support provided where appropriate by peers and Senior engineers within the technical community as well as the partner engineering contractor.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Engineering support to the licensing team in providing technology support to operating facilities which use Sasol’s proprietary Low Temperature Fischer-Tropsch technology. Development of front-end engineering packages (Early Engagement, Process Design Packages, Engineering Design Packages) on International projects that uses Sasol’s proprietary Fischer-Tropsch technology.  Execute FEL studies on behalf the Southern African regional operating hub, under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Review detail engineering documentation and provide technical support during the commissioning, and start-up phases of project so as to assist the licensing team in ensuring that the licensor design intent is protected through all phases of the project.

    Short Description / Purpose of Job

    • Support process engineering strategy by meeting production targets, providing process engineering technical support, and identifying improvement opportunities.
    • Provide technical input into compilation and execution of test-runs, studies, improvement initiatives, and daily assurance process.

    Snr Process Engineer x2 (106463)

    ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The position requires to work in teams to support the process engineering strategy with respect to meeting production targets. The incumbent will provide process engineering technical support and identify improvement opportunities at the Secunda Operations plants; as well as support environmental, compliance and sustainability (ECS) projects within the ECS structure of the relevant technical support team.
    • The incumbent will report directly to the  Lead Process Engineer. The position has no subordinates but be expected to play a technical lead and coaching role to other engineers. 

     Key Accountabilities:

    • Contribute value chain technical input into the daily assurance process.
    • Define value chain "Operate within agreed Parameters" (OWAP) and identify optimisation opportunities for the operating units of the value chain.
    • The incumbent should have an understanding of the value chains within the Synfuels operations.
    • Understand overall business drivers and generate improvement opportunities for Volume Protection Plan (VPP).
