    Maintenance Scheduler

    Job purpose

    • Ensure that safety is considered when developing every job plan.
    • Individual is responsible to schedule maintenance work. Making sure that that spare parts and supplies are available to complete planned maintenance work
    • The scheduler should make sure that maintenance issues are not affecting operations or production or causing other losses or delays.
    • Maintenance costs should not spiral out of control.
    • Ideally you should be seeing a reduction in unplanned/ breakdown work and an increase in planned/ preventative maintenance once the maintenance planner starts working.
    • Administer the maintenance management system (SAP), avail schedule work to operation teams, monitor and generate reports on maintenance performance for management decision making.
       

    Key deliverables

    • Implement maintenance strategies and develop maintenance procedures.
    • Utilize latest maintenance management tools to ensure effective maintenance of all assets.
    • Proactively manage communication and relationships with all customers.
    • Develop detailed work packages from preventive maintenance routine (PMR), findings and corrective maintenance activities for all maintenance teams.
    • Analyse and screen corrective maintenance (CM) job cards and burning maintenance issues for opportunities to perform root cause failure analysis to prevent future failures;
    • Assist Maintenance leads with gathering information needed for their in-depth analysis.
    • Continuously updating maintenance schedule as recommended by the maintenance leads from time to time.
    • Analyse spare parts inventory requirements and continuously improve inventory control.
    • Compile periodic reports to ensure maintenance team and ops team has up to date information for decision making.
       

    Knowledge, Skills And Experience

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4), Technical qualification in Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
    • Knowledge and experience in use of a SAP
    • Ability to work with data and information
    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
    • An understanding of primary, secondary and filter manufacturing machines.
    • Experience in analysing trends in performance parameters.
    • Ability to write reports;
    • Planning and organising skills
    • Knowledge of World class Manufacturing Systems preferably IWS
