Balanced Scorecard Pillars, Roles and Responsibilities:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.

PEOPLE:

Manage the Section:

• Ensure an enabling climate/culture

Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover

• Labour complement in line with budget
• Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section

Manage performance against set targets and competencies

• Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
• Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
• Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
• Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
• Conduct recruitment interviews.

CUSTOMERS

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction
• Conduct Post Investment Reviews
• Key customers: Production and Maintenance.

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Quality:

• Conduct ISO and Samancor internal audits
• Interpret and analyse audit findings and make recommendations
• Compile action plans to close audit findings.

Risk Management:

• Conduct Project Risk Assessments
• Conduct the CURA
• Measure the effectiveness of Risk Control efforts.

Project Services:

• Compile the Project Definition and Process Specifications
• Manage the Engineering, Design phase and execute the Projects.
• Manage the Project Contractors
• Procure Contracted Services
• Award Project Tenders
• Monthly project reports to Engineering Manager.

GROWTH

Continuous Improvement

• Embed sound Project Management practices
• Optimise Plant Capacity
• Implement Value Engineering Projects.

SHAREHOLDER VALUE

Capital Budgeting:

• Conduct feasibility studies
• Scope and cost projects
• Complete Capital Applications.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• Degree or Technikon Diploma
• 6 years relevant experience preferably 2 years managerial experience.

Additional qualifications:

• Advanced certificate or diploma in Project Management
