Manager Corporate Strategy at Absa

An exciting opportunity has become available within Absa Group Corporate strategy division for an individual with exceptional track record.

The Manager Corporate Strategy will be a self-starter, agile and entrepreneurial minded with the passion to make a difference. You will be responsible for strategy formulation support which includes orchestration of necessary process to facilitate strategic alignment between Group and individual business areas, develop strategy development methodologies and frameworks, develop and defend hypothesis/ insights/ recommendations, manage and oversees analytical analysis to enable effective decision-making and drive a consistent high quality strategic standard across the Group.

To succeed in the role, you will have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders,  partner with strategy functions to align on strategic objectives and collectively drive strategic outcomes, effectively communicate developments and requirements across the business portfolio, ensure impeccable and timeous service levels and communicate on the business performance and Strategy for the group. You will be required to stay abreast of industry trends and ensure that AGL is well positioned to provide competitive and industry leading services

Education and Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in Maths, Science, Commercial or Engineering
• MBA or Master’s qualification in Strategy, Innovation or Entrepreneurship will be advantageous
• 5-7 years’ experience in blue chip consulting environment
• 5 -7 years’ corporate experience in Financial Services
• 5-10 years strategy experience

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge and experience in Banking
• Macro understanding of the business environment and industry landscape
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple logical analyses
• Innovative, out the box, entrepreneurial thinker
• Advanced understanding of PowerPoint, Excel and Access
• Ability to produce high quality strategic research
• Ability to lead a single project or at least substantial analysis or work stream within larger project
