    Manager Executive Support REF: DMSA/01/2026

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • A degree in Business Science, Management Science, Strategic Studies or an equivalent qualification. A post-graduate qualification, such as an MBA or a qualification in Strategic Studies, will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience, of which three (3) must be at senior level, in areas including strategy formulation, strategic planning, performance management and control, management  services, and/or capacity and risk management.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS inter alia, include:

    • Executive Support: Provide strategic support to the Office of the CEO and Directors; Coordinate departmental planning sessions; Coordinate, collate and quality-assure departmental inputs; Ensure the implementation of departmental deliverables; Monitor and follow up on departmental projects;
    • Support the Executive in the development of business reports for the Council and other relevant stakeholders; Assist Executives in tracking performance against the APP; Coordinate the compilation  of executive reports; Facilitate the departmental policy development process; Facilitate consultation with the relevant stakeholders; Serve as an executive liaison with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) [primary shareholder] and other stakeholders; Provide technical and professional support to internal stakeholders to support the achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
    • Organisation Strategy: Develop the DMSA-wide corporate strategy; Facilitate the development of business strategy and its tabling through the governance structures, up to Parliament’s Portfolio Committee level; Develop corporate policies; Facilitate the development of operational plans; Obtain approval of the corporate strategy; Ensure alignment to the planning, budgeting and reporting cycles for the organisation; Develop the Service Delivery Improvement Plan in compliance with relevant requirements and legislation.
    • Risk and Compliance Management: Coordinate the Risk Management function within DMSA; Facilitate quarterly meetings of the Risk Management Committee; Facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Strategic Risk Register and Operational Risk Registers; Facilitate compliance management throughout the DMSA, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
    • Performance Management: Develop a DMSA-wide performance management system; Facilitate the preparation of the Annual Performance Plan (APP); Collect, validate, and analyse organisation-wide performance data; Report on organisation-wide performance; Conduct monitoring and evaluation;
    • Recommend remedial actions to ensure achievement of strategic objectives; Develop and implement best practice project management systems and processes to enhance DMSA’s organisational performance.
    • Research: Conduct business and market research; Perform environmental scans using appropriate tools such as PESTLE and Porter’s Five Forces Model; Lead the development of thought leadership at DMSA; Establish DMSA’s profile.
