- Demand management and logistics processes and procedures: Provide mechanisms to improve and maintain logistic processes and procedures; Implementation and maintenance of asset management; Development and implementation of an asset management register that is updated and maintained accurately and timeously; Attain approval before movement or transfer of assets.
- Asset Administration: Ensure that annual procurement plans are compiled and submitted accurately and timeously; Ensure that asset payments are compiled and processed accurately and timeously; Advise on and control capital expenditure for new developments, refurbishments and improvements; Develop and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed and heritage assets; Record fixed and heritage asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system; Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine dispositions; Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Asset Management: Ensure fixed and heritage assets are managed in a fully functional manner in line with statutory and operational requirements of the Authority in line with PFMA and Treasury regulations; Safeguard fixed and heritage assets; Compile and process documents for asset additions and disposals; Prepare annual fixed asset count sheets and conduct monthly and quarterly fixed asset reconciliations; Provide advisory support on asset management matters, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Asset management strategy: Develop a strategy of how to manage both heritage and fixed assets; Draft processes and procedures of both fixed assets and heritage assets.
- General supervision: Ensure the achievement of departmental/unit objectives through oversight and guidance.
- Journal Entries: Reconcile the balance in the fixed and heritage asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger; Calculate and post depreciation for all fixed assets; Assist in the preparation of budgets.

- Sourcing: Issue tenders to required vendors and monitor responses within deadlines; Evaluate vendor compliance with DMSA requirements and compile detailed reports; Obtain approvals from Supply Chain Manager on vendor selection; Notify successful vendors and ensure that all onboarding procedures are completed in accordance with established processes.
- Order Management: Liaise with service providers regarding order requirements based on internal requests; Purchase products in line with the authorised contractual agreements; Receive the electronic order and follow the required actions to process the order within lead times; Submit the order if the system does not identify any discrepancies; Resolve non-approvals and obtain further actions if required; Match and confirm signed delivery notes from Stores against purchase orders in the system; Match invoices to the order and obtain approval from Procurement Specialist; Submit approved orders to Finance for payment in accordance with agreed credit terms; Ensure that all orders are fully closed out; Follow u with relevant parties as required; Complete a quarterly price comparison list based on current vendors and rates; Identify vendors that overcharge and source more cost-effective alternatives; Report these findings to the Procurement Specialist for further review; Obtain instructions regarding the next steps to be taken; Source/contact new vendors based on feedback from Procurement Manager.
