    Manager: Quality Assurance

    Overall Job Purpose: 

    • To provide expert guidance and support in the implementation of quality assurance (QA) processes and quality enhancement processes and accreditation support when required. This includes ensuring policy and procedural alignment with institutional standards, supporting programme development, managing self-evaluation and review processes, and facilitating QA training. The role requires deep technical knowledge of higher education compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for ensuring that quality policies and regulatory requirements are effectively interpreted, adapted and embedded to support equity of provision across sites of delivery and modes of provisioning and a culture of continuous quality enhancement.

    Institutional QA Policy Implementation, Accreditation Standards Alignment, and Policy Support

    • Operationalise the QAF and academic standards across the brand
    • Ensure institutional alignment of site practices with national quality policies and compliance frameworks
    • Review and interpret CHE, SAQA, DHET regulations to ensure institutional alignment
    • Support drafting and updating of institutional QA and accreditation policies
    • Evaluate programme documents against regulatory criteria
    • Support QA policy dissemination and awareness

    Programme Development and QA Input

    • Coordinate the academic input and evidence for new applications and programme extensions
    • Ensure documentation and delivery meet quality standards and deadlines
    • Provide technical QA guidance during curriculum and programme design
    • Conduct pre-submission quality reviews of programme documentation

    Self-Evaluation Reviews and Internal Audit Facilitation

    • Maintain accurate student progression records and generate institutional reports on submission and completion rates.
    • Compiles, manages and distributes academic reports as required by the campus Academic faculties.
    • Provides academic and administrative support during the campus registration period, including calling for student retention initiatives.
    • Coordinate self-evaluation review (SER) processes with academic departments
    • Facilitate the compilation, verification and quality assurance of evidence portfolios
    • Lead site and/or national academic quality readiness for regulatory reviews.
    • Conduct internal quality checks in preparation for audits and site visits
    • Support the institution’s audit readiness through checklists, templates, and coaching
    • Track and report on review outcomes and improvement recommendations
    • Analyse QA data across campuses and escalate risks of non-compliance to ACE.
    • Contribute towards institutional responses to conditions and quality assure the evidence for the responses

    Training and Capacity Building

    • Develop and deliver training sessions on QA requirements
    • Create toolkits, guidelines, and templates for academic and support staff
    • Facilitate QA knowledge-sharing through workshops and forums
    • Promote institutional quality culture through professional development initiatives
    • Respond to queries and provide one-on-one coaching for programme teams

    Programme Review Coordination and SAQA Documentation

    • Schedule and coordinate programme reviews in collaboration with academic teams
    • Ensure documentation integrity for qualification registration and re-accreditation
    • Support the review of qualifications for submission and revision purposes

    Minimum Educational Requirement:

    • NQF Level 9 Master's Qualification 
    • NQF Level 10 Doctorate Qualification (Ideal) 

    Minimum Work Requirement:

    • Academic administration or higher education support 2 Year(s)
    • Student data management and admissions experience 2 Year(s)
    • Working knowledge of academic records and results processing 2 Year(s)
