Managing Director: African Blasting Solutions at Omnia (Pty) LTD

• We are seeking an accomplished executive leader to drive the strategic direction, operational excellence and profitable growth of BME's Africa Blasting Operations. This pivotal role carries full accountability for business performance across multiple African markets, ensuring sustainable growth, governance excellence, operational effectiveness and customer-centric innovation.
• As Managing Director Africa Blasting Solutions, you will inspire a high-performance culture across diverse teams, strengthen customer relationships, oversee critical business functions including Operations, Supply Chain, SHERQ, Finance, HR and Marketing, and position BME as the blasting solutions partner of choice across the continent. This is an opportunity to influence the future of mining through technology, innovation, responsible resource utilisation and commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and continuously refine the Africa Blasting strategic growth agenda aligned to Omnia and BME business objectives.
• Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, cash generation and operational performance across multiple African operations.
• Lead the execution of customer-centric business strategies that strengthen market leadership and deliver exceptional service excellence.
• Provide executive leadership across Operations, Production, Supply Chain, SHERQ, Finance, Human Resources and Marketing functions.
• Build world-class organisational capabilities through people development, succession planning and leadership effectiveness.
• Champion innovation, digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives to improve scalability and business performance.
• Strengthen governance, compliance and risk management frameworks while ensuring adherence to corporate and legislative requirements.
• Foster a culture of safety, ethics, accountability, diversity and operational excellence across all business units.
• Engage with executive stakeholders, customers, regulators and industry partners to support long-term growth and sustainability.
• Lead strategic initiatives that support the expansion of blasting solutions throughout Africa while ensuring operational resilience and sustainable value creation.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field.
• MBA, MBL or equivalent postgraduate business qualification.
• Project Management certification will be advantageous.

Experience

• 10+ years executive leadership experience within a complex industrial, mining, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proven success in developing and executing business strategies that deliver sustainable growth and profitability.
• Demonstrated experience leading multinational or multi-country operations across Africa.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale operational, commercial and support functions.
• Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, governance, risk management and organisational transformation.
• Experience leading high-performing teams within a diverse and geographically dispersed environment.
