JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Manager, the role will require a proven Business Development leader who will formulate overall strategy, manage a team of people, responsible for an annual targeted budget and establish policies. To be successful in this role, you would have a maritime background, track record of proven leadership and a confident decision-maker, helping your team develop and be productive, while ensuring our clients profits are on the rise. Ultimately, you will help our client's company grow and thrive.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to: -

• University Degree in Finance/business with competence in business communication,
• A proven track record in a leadership role;
• A Proven track record in Sales and Business Development.
• Strong operational, financial and business development skills
• Well versed in MS office
• Self-driven, organized, good communication skills
• Able to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of tender submission with minimum of 10 years of experience Ships Agency or Commercial Maritime field.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

• Maintaining all company policies;
• Ensure all employees are motivated and productive;
• Strengthen current client relationships by enhancing the service provided, utilizing this expertise to further develop new business with both current and potential key customers;
• Attending various meetings with Port Authorities, Maritime Authorities, Shipping Lines, Shippers Council, etc.
• Resolving all issues for clients and providing amicable and agreeable solutions
• Business development and maintaining Key Clients
• Oversee day-to-day operations;
• Monitoring debt collections with the purpose of maintaining low average of debtors and credit periods.
• Design strategy and set goals for growth;
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses;
• Set policies and processes;
• Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally;
• Oversee recruitment and training of new employees;
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance;
• Prepare regular reports for upper management;
• Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations;
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).
