    We are looking for a Market Access & Public Affairs Director, who will drive our South African affiliate across the different Therapy Areas. Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager for South Africa, you will be a part of the Leadership Team, which is responsible for driving business across South Africa.

    The position

    As Market Access & Public Affairs Director, you will be responsible for creating and driving the market access and public affairs strategies that align with the Global/Regional/BA strategies and leverage growth for Novo Nordisk South Africa.

    You will be responsible for ensuring that the affiliate identifies and acts on short to medium term opportunities to meet annual business targets.

    You must develop strong, enduring networks with all key stakeholders and maintain the visibility/awareness of Novo Nordisk portfolio (existing & future) with key decision makers within the healthcare system. As MA&PA Director, you will also be responsible for developing evidence-based value propositions suitable for the market and communicating them to payers in order to obtain, optimise and defend market access at a price reflecting the brand value.

    As a key ambassador for Novo Nordisk will be responsible for strengthening, developing and influencing external environment within the health care industry to support market access for the Novo Nordisk portfolio, while enhancing the reputation of Novo Nordisk with external stakeholders. You will provide overall public affairs direction for the affiliate.

    Qualifications

    You have a university degree, preferably in Business or Science. Experience around health economics and pricing, would be an advantage. You have minimum of 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience with market access and public affairs leadership and prior responsibility for payer relations. A deep understanding of South African healthcare and reimbursement system is essential. Strong organizational and people management skills are also required. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, can take initiative and influence stakeholders at a senior management level.
