    Master Technician

    Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Team Leadership and Supervision:

    • Supervise and manage a team of Service Technicians and Assistants.
    • Schedule and manage team leave, sick leave, and weekend work.
    • Conduct daily safety meetings, incident debriefs, and team briefings.
    • Maintain team discipline, motivation, and a positive work culture.
    • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Oversee all maintenance and repair activities on Epiroc machinery.
    • Ensure adherence to proper maintenance and repair procedures.
    • Record all work in logbooks and provide reports on breakdowns, spares usage, and maintenance activities.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce adherence to all safety protocols and mine standards.
    • Conduct Planned Task Observations (PTOs) and ensure the team complies with PPE and safety policies.
    • Identify hazards, report incidents, and implement corrective measures.

    Training and Development:

    • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training sessions for team members.
    • Act as a technical coach, mentoring and training subordinates on maintenance best practices.
    • Ensure technicians are trained in new equipment and updated on procedures.

    Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Liaise with the customer’s Pit Superintendent to report and manage machine damages.
    • Maintain machine availability above 85% to meet contractual requirements.

    Administrative and Planning Support:

    • Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, timesheets, and equipment manuals.
    • Assist the Maintenance Planner with reports and maintenance scheduling.
    • Control costs within set parameters and optimize equipment life.

    Skills, Comperence and Experience:

    • Strong technical expertise with Epiroc machinery.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficient in computer systems and maintenance management software.
    • Strong communication and customer relationship management skills.
    • Ability to work shifts in a 24/7 operation.

    Educational Qualification:

    • Applicable Trade Test (e.g., Hydraulic Fitter, Electrician, or Millwright).
