Mechanical Artisan Assistant (Randfontein) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Matric/ Grade12
• Working on being Qualified Artisan
• 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Sector
• Have own vehicle and driver’s license
• Have own tools
• Prepared to work shifts
• Very hands on person
• Ability to understand Pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical system
• Understand safety and basics of fitting and boilermaker

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Do shifts where required and understand dynamics of running 24/7 plant
• Support Competent person on Corrective and Planned Maintenance activities
• Understand basics of safety and good in safe work practices
• Understand basics of environment and promote a healthy work environment
• Understand how to drive and maintain Maintenance KPIs: - Ability to use the Tools - Understand plant process and work independently - Clear Communications with the Superiors - Teamwork with the Colleagues and Production Team - Manually delivery of Works Order and via CMMS (On-key)
• Understand electrical drawings and equipment
• Able to do troubleshooting on mechanical and pneumatic system
• Able to work independently
• Understand and work on a simple 6bar pneumatic system (Compressed Air)
• Write shifts or/and standby reports where required
• Track his/her own timesheet, KPIs and state of the machines during his/her shift
• Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by the Manager
• Adhere to the group’s health and safety rules
• Understand and comply to the group’s health and safety standards
• Ensures the safety of laboratory equipment
• Participate in all health and safety campaigns
