Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus (NQF Level 7) in Engineering as recognized by SAQA.
Three (3) years’ experience post qualification. Current registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer as Mechanical Engineer (2026). A valid driver’s licence.
DUTIES :
Development, interpretation and customisation of functional and technical norms and standards from an engineering perspective. Investigate proposals for innovative service delivery mechanisms and undertake feasibility studies. Compile briefing documentation and specifications from an engineering perspective.
Investigate electronic and electrical engineering installations and equipment, undertake design work and implement corrective measures. Oversee implementation [construction] and commissioning of mechanical engineering installations.
Research/literature studies to keep up with new technologies, viability and feasibility of the geographical information management options for the Department including interaction with relevant professional development boards/councils.
