    Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

    JOB TITLE AND PURPOSE
    Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)
    Purpose of the Job

    • Executes the Services Engineering activities in the project
    • Main interface between product development Engineering team and manage the Intergrated Services Readiness (ISR) deliverables during the product development phase i.e. to be involved in Design for Quality (DFQ) cycle for managing the Designs/Changes to be ready for maintenance
    • Execute the Sub System Engineering activities during the design phase on mechanical scopes/system

    Responsibilities And Objectives
    Product Definition and Development Phase

    • Responsible for the ISR activities and definition (LSA engineering, Maintenance documentation, Product Training and Special tools, test benches, and Spare parts specifications) during the Project phase, and tender phase if required
    • Delivers the planning, cost and quality (QCD) of the ISR activities accordingly to the ISR Management Plan
    • Coordinates with other Engineering Metiers/Disciplines or Functions for the design of ISR activities
    • Coordinates with central Metiers/Disciplines or Function to ensure integration and compliancy with standard and best practice (standard reference library/Design for Servicibility (DFS) and Maintenance and Testing (M&T))

    Maintenance Phase

    • Owns the Configuration and Design Change Management of the Project
    • Manages the technical performances of the systems and provide Return of Experience (REX) to relevant Services Platforms
    • Optimizes the scope and related tasks of the Maintenance Plan
    • Supports cost reduction actions, with sourcing and industrial team
    • Detects, defines and implements the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, in order to reduce project costs and improve the performances of the systems
    • Assures the update of the technical documentation of the projects
    • Supports the Product Safety management system ensuring safety risks are mitigated in a timely manner
    • Manages Obsolescence Plan for the systems
    • Captures and ensures ownership of regulations and standards to be applied
    • Interfaces with the stakeholders in the Certification processes, excluding Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) certification
    • Develops the maintenance instructions and processes from the maintenance plan and maintenance manuals
    • Updates of trouble-shooting guides to follow the as maintenained
    • Analyses the technical performance of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.
    • Manages the technical documentation within the system and any required interface with the MMIS.
    • Draft specifications of standardized tools improving efficiency in maintenance activities
    • Assures efficient parts codification in line with Platform rules: materials identification, codification process, interfaces with business solution systems, quality and normative requirements
    • Elaborate project monthly maintenance report (contractual reliability and availability targets)
    • Set-up and follows standardized and continuous fleet reliability improvement plans, proactively surveying fleet KPI and promoting improving actions
    • Development of LCC model by sub-system and reporting
    • Develop and maintain visual management of LCC
    • Preparation of the LCC models for Critical Project Review (CPR) submissions
    • Management of risks and savings related to the LCC
    • Proposes actions to optimize Maintenance plans and LCC
    • Searches for improvement actions in maintenance operations, performing engineering interface activities with Operations Engineers (depot support)
    • Promotes the use of latest maintenance techniques (CBM, RCM, Lean….) and technologies
    • Analyses failure criticality studies and uses Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and other available methodologies to define and optimize the maintenance requirements, tasks and intervals
    • Calculates material, parts and time consumption

    Skills, Knowledge And Experiences
    Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience
    Minimum Education And Working Experiences Required

    • BSc / B.Eng Degree (in Mechanical Engineering) with 2 years working experience prefferebily in the rail industry
    • Equivalent, i.e BTech (in Mechanical Engineering) with 5 working experience prefferebily in the rail industry
    • Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA

    Minimum Technical Experience In Railway Required

    • Prognostic Tools (Centralised Fleet Maintenance (CFM), Health Hub (HH) or equivalent tools for remote fleet monitoring program)
    • Management of Life Cycle Cost of components/RAMS experience
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word….)
    • System Application and Products (SAP)
    • Rail safety and railways standards knowledge preferred
    • Working knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment
    • Detailed knowledge of engineering design processes, engineering drawings and interpretation software documentations
    • Able to have a technical curiosity and able to discuss with the project team
    • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques (8D, Ishikawa, 5 whys, QRQC …)
    • Drafting trouble-shooting instruction
