    Medical Orthotist & Prosthetist Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • A Diploma or Degree qualification in Medical Orthotist & Prosthetist, or an appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Medical Orthotist & Prosthetics.
    • Registration certificate with HPCSA and compliance to CPD requirements. Current registration with HPCSA for 2026/2027.
    • Good communication, interpersonal, conflict management, time management, flexibility and operational planning skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure, independently and in a team.

    Duties :

    • Render effective patient cantered Orthotics and Prosthetics service for inpatients and outpatients at local and cluster facilities in adherence to the scope of practice and health protocols.
    • To work with colleagues, relieve as and when the need arises. To work closely with the interdisciplinary team members. Carryout delegated duties. To participate in student training, supervision and performance evaluation. Implement and maintain the quality assurance and National Core standard and norms at departmental level.
    • Adhere to provincial, Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations, perform record keeping, data collection, assist with budget control and assets management.
    • Contribute and participate in professional development of self, colleagues and members of the interdisciplinary team members. Participate in research projects of the department.
    • Participation in quality assurance methods and CPD activities. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Exercise care with all consumables and equipment.
