Middle Accounting Clerk – Hilton at Accountancy Placements

• Our client is seeking an experienced and organised Middle Accounting Clerk to join their team.

Responsibilities

Annual Financial Statements

• Drafting of annual financial statements
• Data capturing and processing
• Reconciling debtors, creditors, bank, etc
• Understanding of bookkeeping to trial balance
• Fixed asset Register
• Amortisation schedule preparation
• Balancing of intercompany loans
• Preparation of tax comp & IT48
• Preparation of distribution schedule for Tax

 Management Accounts

• Data capturing and processing
• Reconciliation of debtors, creditors, bank, etc.
• Processing and reconciling VAT returns
• Payroll and processing of EMP201s and EMP501s
• Understanding of bookkeeping to trial balance
• Taxation
• Preparation of tax returns and audit response to SARS
• Supervision and Training
• Assisting Junior Accounting Clerks on an ad hoc basis

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong work ethic, good timekeeping and a deadline-driven approach
• Good working knowledge of Pastel/Sage, Xero, Pastel Payroll or other payroll software, GreatSoft, eFiling and EasyFile
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Teams
• CaseWare Working Papers experience would be advantageous
