PURPOSE OF THE JOB

•  To safely carry out preventive maintenance and assist with breakdowns and repairs mechanical equipment

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•  Grade 10 / N2 with 4 relevant subjects

 Valid Millwright Trade Test Certificate:

• Section 13/26D
•  MV Qualified up to 11kV

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

•  Minimum of 3 years in a underground mining environment
•  Experience in a plant environment will be an advantage

•  Good communication skills in English;
•  Ability to work accurate under pressure

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Comply with safety procedures, standards and safe working practices
•  Hazard identification reporting and correction
•  General housekeeping in areas of responsibility
•  Reporting of accidents and incidents
•  Complete pre-task risk assessments
•  Ensure tools and equipment are in a safe and good condition
•  Identifying critical spares
•  Ensure that all maintenance and breakdown work is efficiently completed on time
•  Control amount of rework and quality of workmanship
•  Handover of equipment after breakdowns
•  Monitor and maintain lubrication systems, bearings, cooling system, pumps, valves and all other mechanical equipment
•  Monitor and maintain substations, transformers, standby generators, mechanical and electrical equipment
•  Inspect portable electrical equipment, as required, and ensure compliance
•  Do condition monitoring and react on results
•  React on and prioritise safety instructions and Job cards
•  Environmental compliance and reporting of all nonconformances to supervisor
•  Maintain Company tools and equipment in good order
•  Assist in planning and organising planned outages
•  Monitor and maintain fire systems
•  Ensure proper training and discipline of subordinates
•  Complete and sign off job cards
•  Minimise unplanned downtime and outages;
•  Complete logbooks at required intervals and at a high standard
•  Submit reports and documentation as required
•  Identify and report short comings on safety procedures
