    Millwright - Germiston Pronutro Plant

    Responsibilities

    Job Overview:

    • To provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations skills in manufacturing factory to ensure general maintenance within specific unit of responsibility as per prescribed guidelines. This role requires a qualified artisan with a Millwright trade certificate and FMCG experience.
    • Ensure packing machines are correctly allocated and utilised to meet production requirements – change overs and settings according to OEM specifications.
    • Ensure required efficiencies are maintained.
    • Identify areas of waste and inefficiency within the production process and suggest remedies to improve yields and efficiencies.
    • Minimise all waste.
    • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained by monitoring and informing engineering and by carrying out minor repairs on packaging equipment.
    • Maintain good housekeeping and food safety standards in order to ensure AIB, CRP and Safety compliance.
    • Maintain safety standards through safe operating practices in order to avoid accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Uphold and maintain ISO 14001 conformance by actively supporting the site Environmental Management System in order to obtain certification.
    • Carry out IPS systems procedures.
    • Assist with boil out procedures on boilers.
    • Ensure line optimization at all times.
    • Assist in fault-finding and problem-solving activities within the context and complexity of the manufacturing process in order to ensure maximum uptime and line efficiency.
    • Carry out inspections and do basic maintenance on site’s generators.
    • Carry out pneumatic and hydraulic inspections and repairs.
    • Assist and supervise on-site contractors, during installations or repairs, ensuring compliance to all company standards or policies.
    • Ensure that quality control standards/specifications are met during and after maintenance activities.
    • Maintain safety standards through safe maintenance practices in order to avoid accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

    Qualifications

    • Matric 
    • Relevant Technical Trade Certificate
