    Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

    Job Description

    The role is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the OMF M&E Framework, in partnership with OML business to ensure that well informed funding decisions are made and that these funds are properly managed.

    Key Result Area

    Operational delivery

    • Maintain OMF M&E framework in line with OML Theory of Change owned by GMPAS
    • Sourcing and collate data for development of annual reports for the OM Foundation and case studies for Corporate Affairs key initiatives
    • Facilitate the data validation and data verification by heads of finance
    • Implement M&E tools, systems, and processes for Old Mutual Foundation
    • Monitor progress and impact of strategic/flagship initiatives for OM Foundation initiatives
    • Apply GMPAS Knowledge management practices within OM Foundation
    • Provide oversight on all impact assessment processes related to OML Social Investment initiatives
    • Collate and share research data related to OM Foundation impacts and share with GMPAS Knowledge and Insights

    Due diligence

    • Conduct due diligence, in partnership with OM internal due diligence to satisfy the Old Mutual Trustee Board that investments are being properly managed.
    • Conducting project feasibility studies.
    • Conducting due-diligence exercises.
    • Conducting financial due diligence exercise.
    • Compiling a monitoring and/or evaluation report.
    • Conducting business process improvements on the management, coordination, and administration of projects.
    • Note this role would not be responsible for beneficiary organisations.

    Provide governance

    • Provide support in the alignment of projects to meet the OMF standards.
    • Collate information to provide feedback and input on Education initiatives

    People

    • Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.
    • Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.
    • Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks, and output quality over periods of up to a year.

    Finance and Governance

    • Complies with Finance and Risk management governances

    Role Requirement

    • Business qualification/degree
    • 2 - 4 years’ education sector experience
    • Experience in implementing and monitoring frameworks
    • Experience in due diligence processes

    The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit.
