MRO and Services Sales Manager, Sub Equatorial & South Africa
Valmet is looking for an experienced and driven MRO and Services Manager to lead our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Services business across Sub-Equatorial Africa and South Africa. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving customer satisfaction, profitable growth and operational excellence in a dynamic industrial environment.
In this role, you will:
Execute the regional MRO & Services business plan to meet orders, sales, and profitability targets.
Implement corporate and regional strategies in collaboration with local teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key end-users and internal stakeholders.
Identify and engage potential customers to understand and meet their service needs.
Lead business initiatives aligned with global and regional directives.
Support and guide sales teams and partner networks to achieve business objectives.
Manage and coach a team of 8 professionals across Durban and Johannesburg, including internal sales and administrative staff.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee the inquiry-to-invoice and order-to-invoice processes, ensuring timely and competitive proposals.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all regional operations.
Collaborate within a matrix organization
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma with Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience in the Valves, Pumps, or Automation industry.
At least 10 years of proven success in MRO and service business execution.
Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team within the Valve, Pump or Automation Industry.
Strong technical orientation with in-depth knowledge of industrial valves.
Experience working with customers in Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Refining & Petrochemical, and Metals & Mining industries in Sub-Equatorial Africa and South Africa.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and time management.
Sales mindset with a deep understanding of the territory and customer needs.
Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time locally and to export countries.
Ability to thrive in a matrix organization and manage cross-functional collaboration.
Successfully develop & drive new ambitious strategies to sell services in the territory.
