    National Sales Manager - Rigid Packaging

    About the Position

    A leading company specialising in the manufacturing of injection moulded products requires the above to be accountable for all Sales activities throughout the business by planning, monitoring and evaluating Sales activities and promotional programmes as well as establishing market trends and aims to maximise profit.

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Previous experience having worked within the Rigid Packaging industry within a Sales Management role is essential.
    • Previous experience having dealt the large Food and Beverage Manufacturers and having built strong relationships with these Customers is preferred but not essential.
    • Previous experience developing strategic and business plans is essential.
    • Must have a strong financial understanding of how a business is run as well as a thorough knowledge of market changes that influence the company.
    • The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of Corporate Finance and measurements of performance.
    • Must have excellent organisational and leadership skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities is essential.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Managing the Sales strategy in line with the overall company strategy as well as monitoring Sales targets, budgets and new business in order to effectively implement the strategy.
    • Achieving and exceeding the annual agreed Sales turnover in order to achieve maximum profit with regards to individual sales versus actual sales achieved.
    • Managing and training the Sales Managers, Sales Representatives and appointed Agents as well as staff members within the Call Centre.
    • Managing and completing monthly Sales forecasts versus actual sales achieved.
    • Identifying and managing new market and conversion opportunities as well as improving and expanding the current customer base.
    • Developing and managing a market intelligence system to ensure a detailed knowledge of competitors and product trends is maintained.
    • Managing good working relationships with customers to ensure a thorough understanding of their needs and business is obtained.
    • Managing price guidelines and ensuring they are continuously maintained.
    • Establishing and reviewing annual sales and expense budgets.
    • Liaising with current and potential customers with regards to price and product information as required.
    • Managing pricing guidelines as well as the approval of price requests that fall outside of formal pricing.
    • Monitoring orders against the delivery plan and ensuring that delivery dates are met.
    • Overseeing new product development as well as negotiating product specifications as required.
    • Managing Debtors to ensure that all debt is being controlled as well as overseeing the signing off of customer deals and Credit Notes as required.

    Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
