    Wage Administrator - Somerset West

    Job Details

    We are looking for a self-motivated, driven and competent Wage Administrator who has an in-depth understanding of payroll processes. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor and is based at our offices in Somerset West, Western Cape.

    Responsibilities:

    • Take ownership for end to end processing of fortnightly payroll, that entails but is not limited to:
      • Loading of new employees on the payroll system and processing terminations
      • Processing payroll batches in accordance with department processes
      • Capturing of garnishees
      • Assisting with recon of loan accounts
      • Assisting with payroll queries that may arise
    • Liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the payroll data is submitted accurately and on time within the given deadlines Print, distribute and store standard payroll reports on a Bi-Weekly basis
    • Issuing all paperwork relating to the department of labour i.e. UI-19, salary schedules
    • Gather and process all administration regarding provident fund (new starter documentation, provident fund reconciliation and variance analysis, and termination paperwork)
    • Respond to queries with regards to BCEA, company payment policies and procedures and assist with confirmation of employment requests.

    Requirements:

    • Matric and a diploma in HR/Payroll or proven experience in payroll
    • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working on Sage 300 People essential
    • Intermediate Excel essential
    • Strong reconciliation skills essential
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Job Costing knowledge an advantage
    • Clear and strong written and verbal communication skills highly advantageous
    • Retirement fund administration experience highly advantageous

    Operations Manager - Grabouw

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager: Operations, this senior position will be responsible for the management and operations of the Molteno Packhouse in Grabouw which is part of the Fruitways Packing Services Division.

    Responsibilities:

    •  Manage and control that the Presorting and Packing operations performs to the required throughput, efficiency and quality standards that delivers to the business unit KPI’s.
    •  Oversee and monitor that the Bin and Pallet warehousing and logistics operations are effectively implemented according to the supply and storage plans.
    •  Manage operational systems to ensure data accuracy and availability of information.
    •  Compile and control the operational expenditure budget and ensure effective cost and waste management.
    •  Minimize business risk by ensuring the site complies with the necessary health and safety and food safety standards.
    •  Work closely with HR and management team to create an empowered and engaging work environment for the ±550 employees which supports good labour relations.
    •  Manage and lead the management team in a manner that fosters high performance and collaboration.

    Requirements:

    •  A tertiary qualification in Operations/Production/Business Management or Industrial Engineering (or similar)
    •  Minimum 8+ years managerial experience in in an organised labour environment of which 5 years within the fruit packing industry.
    •  Computer literate and knowledge of systems.
    •  The ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
    •  Leadership ability to grow and develop team of Managers.
    •  Good analytical skills.

    Operations Financial Manager - Grabouw

    Job Details

    We have an exciting career opportunity for a self-disciplined, determined and confident individual who will perform a supporting role to our Packing Services business units. Your ability to work independently and accurately in a pressurized environment as well as building interpersonal relationships will be advantageous. Reporting to the Financial Director, you will be required to travel between the three operational sites in the Grabouw/Vyeboom area with your base office in Molteno, Glen Elgin.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with Group Finance objectives, translating them into efficient operational business processes.
    • Coordinate timely and professional feedback to customers, maintaining effective communication with Group Finance.
    • Establish action plans for financial and risk management, consulting stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
    • Analyse financial information and propose solutions for business process improvements and project analysis requests.
    • Interpret financial data, adjusting forecasts, aligning critical volume drivers, and reporting findings to stakeholders.
    • Develop and introduce processes, financial models, and measurable targets to achieve business objectives.
    • Maintain and improve monthly management packs, evaluate reports, and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
    • Review revenue calculation, cashflow forecasts, Capex budget, and conduct ad hoc financial modelling.
    • Review internal controls, propose improvements, and regularly assess financial and operational risks.
    • Manage a small team, providing guidance, fostering collaboration, and identifying and developing talent.

    Requirements: 

    • BCom Management Accounting Degree or relevant accounting qualification with CIMA, SAIPA or similar
    • 5+ years relevant experience post articles, preferably within a production environment
    • 2+ years minimum management experience
    • Thorough financial and corporate governance knowledge
    • Proven understanding of interrelationship between financial and operational processes
    • Strong financial modelling skills
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • The successful candidate needs a good sense for attention to detail, project management skills, written and verbal communication, ability to maintain internal and external stakeholder relations

    Maintenance Assistant - Grabouw

    Job Summary 

    We have an exciting career opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant based at our Melpack Packhouse in Vyeboom. Reporting to the Maintenance Technician, the ideal candidate needs to have technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

    Responsibilities

    •  Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections according to prescriptive schedule.
    •  Repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns in buildings, packhouse machinery/equipment, water treatment and sewage plant as well as site work.
    •  Assist with planning of and the execution of annual preventative maintenance program
    •  Disassemble and replace defective mechanical and/or electrical equipment or worn parts and reassemble equipment
    •  Supervise a team of up to four sub-ordinates
    •  Keep working area and equipment clean and safe

    Requirements:

    •  Grade 12
    •  N3 Millwright preferably or N3 Fitter and Turner
    •  In depth knowledge of the mechanical workings of machinery and equipment.
    •  Knowledge of the electrical workings of machinery and equipment
    •  Preferably 2-3 years’ experience within a production facility or similar Fruit packaging environment
    •  Previous experience working with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) will be advantageous
    •  Computer skills (MS Office and more specific Excel (Basic) and Outlook
    •  Good understanding of the OHS Act, regulations, and relevant codes
    •  Willingness to work nightshift during season, be on standby and work overtime
    •  Strong attention to detail
    •  Willingness to work in a team environment and collaborate with other
