    Network Control Group Supervisor

    Key responsibilities

    • To control and monitor air and road operations to ensure schedules are adhered to within the SZA (South Africa, Southern Africa) cluster.
    • To analyze uplift requirements during the operation and change Aircraft/Truck allocations where considered required to ensure a timely and cost-effective service.
    • To manage inter-departmental operational relationships at Johannesburg GTW, as well as building and maintaining relationships with the Gateways and HUBS of the SSA.
    • To formulate accurate and timely Load Plans for all air and road movements using the NMIV, CALMS & SABLE systems in accordance with GSAM.
    • Be the focal point of contact regarding network requirements on all published schedules to ensure DHL Gateways/Hubs and DHL Express locations are fully aware of the real time situation and attainable results.
    • Influence, support, delegate and motivate NCG staff to gain confidence and achieve acceptance for the jobholder’s initiatives.
    • Liaising and communicating with other departments to ensure the passing of information about transport movement changes or problems.
    • To compile and distribute daily NCG reports and produce an overall review of the previous 24 hours operation.
    • To control and monitor Network Control Systems to ensure all required transmissions are sent and received.
    • To ensure full compliance to Network Operating Standards and all Global SOP procedures associated to the NCG department.
    • Ensure ACS manifesting (TGV) & Network messaging compliance (NMIV)
    • Ensure the team follows checkpoint business rules and that systems are timely updated with correct checkpoints.
    • Ensure the latest schedule and all changes are made in real time in Netline.
    • Ensure CALMS has the most accurate information and commercial airline booking and recovery processes are followed accordingly.

    Minimum Requirements

    Experience & Education

    Knowledge

    • In-depth knowledge of aircraft characteristics and limitations
    • In-depth knowledge and ability of weight and balance theory
    • Aviation Global SOP Procedures and all Network Standard Requirements
    • Understanding of Airside Ground Operations
    • Exceptional DHL & Commercial Air Network Knowledge both regional and intercontinental

    Skills

    • General PC expertise (windows environment with Word and Excel)
    • Proven abilities of using SABLE, CALMS, NMIV, VISTA, AQCC, RCIR, TGV etc
    • Fluent in English, both verbal and written

    Experience

    • At least 3 years minimum experience within a Network Control Group environment
    • Minimum of 2 years shift/team management experience
    • Ramp and Sort departmental experience an advantage.

    Educational Qualification

    • National Diploma or bachelor in transport economics or Aviation
