Non- Executive Directors of Entities - IND00204 at Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality

Purpose: The City of Ekurhuleni (City) hereby invites applications from suitable individuals to be included in the panel of candidates from which the City can appoint non-executive directors of the municipality’s entities, namely the Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) and Ekurhuleni Water Care Company (ERWAT).

• A Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae and certified copies of qualifications together with 3 references must be submitted with each application.

Further considerations:

• Applications will be subject to vetting and probity checks. Appointed candidates may be subjected to an appropriate security clearance. Preference will be given to candidates whose appointments will enhance representation of communities of the City of Ekurhuleni.  Correspondence will be limited to short-listed applicants only.

Job Requirements

• B Degree at NQF Level 7
• Candidates must be suited for appointment by virtue of their qualifications, expertise and experience in the fields of Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, Law  & Compliance, Actuarial Science, Information & Communication Technology, Investment Management, Finance, Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Infrastructure Development and Project Management, Development Finance, Socio-economic Development, Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Business, Pension Fund Management, Social Housing, Engineering, Built Environment, Community Activism and Participation, Governance and Public Sector and or Local Government Administration.  
• Applicants must possess no less than 8 years’ management experience in any of the specialist areas enlisted above.
• Professional registration/certification in the fields of accounting, finance, auditing, law, engineering, built environment, risk management, and ICT will be an added advantage.
• Certification from the Institute of Directors South Africa (IODSA), as Certified Director, will be an added advantage.
• Applicants must not be disqualified to be appointed as non-executive director in terms of section 93F of the Municipal Systems Act.
