Completed Trade Test for Artisans or Telecoms PAX/PABX.
Minimum of 5 years’ Telecommunication experience (post-apprenticeship).
Specialist knowledge of PABX/PAX telephone systems, copper/fibre cables, and hi-site/microwave infrastructure.
Code B or EB driver's licence.
Ability to operate sophisticated test and splicing equipment.
High degree of accuracy in operating splicing/jointing equipment.
Working knowledge of safety regulations and light engineering.
Willingness to work in all weather conditions and at heights.
Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
Must be on standby.
Must be prepared to enter confined areas and work at heights.
Key Performance Areas:
Operate sophisticated test and splicing equipment with a high degree of accuracy in splicing/jointing equipment operation.
Apply a working knowledge of safety regulations and light engineering in telecommunications.
Interpret and coordinate pre-work/site requirements for installations, repairs, and maintenance sequences, guiding personnel activities.
Complete internal documentation (e.g., time sheets, log sheets, progress and productivity field reports, vehicle checklists).
Perform tasks associated with the operation of specialized vehicles and equipment (e.g., compressors, trucks) during electrical installation, repair, and maintenance.
Coordinate activities for constructing and installing communication networks.
Manage routine maintenance activities of communication infrastructure, including PAX and PABX cable networks, communications consoles, and intercom cable systems.
