Promotion of a safe health care environment through monitoring and management of the occupational health and safety risks within the district. Workplace Health Risk Assessments (HRA), hazardous chemical agents’ inventory, monitoring and evaluation. Oversee district and facilities compliance with relevant occupational health and safety requirements, legislation, codes of practice, standards, and norms. Establish and co-ordinate the activities of the local Health and Safety Committees. Ensure compliance with legally required appointments in terms of the OHS Act. Education and training within areas of control. Develop staff literacy and expertise on Occupational Health and Safety principles, practices and guidelines within the district and the facilities. Health and safety promotion. Ensure effective administration of the occupational health and safety activities. Continuous Professional Development. Maintain scientific, regulatory, and business knowledge appropriate to the profession.
Requirements:
Appropriate three-year National Diploma or Degree/ (NQF Level 6) qualification in health and safety management or related field.
Experience:
Appropriate experience in occupational health and safety management.
