Job Description:

As an Occupational Health Practitioner, your duties include, but not limited to, the below:

• Evaluate daily referrals from HR (long duration and high frequency cases)
• Evaluate weekly progress of implementation RTW and SMP’s of long duration sick leave cases
• Monthly feedback to HR on 12-month sick leave statistics (high frequency and long duration
• Evaluate daily “Unfit” list
• Identify possible Early Return to work cases
• Summarise daily list and send through to OMP
• Weekly meetings IPS
• Report to OMP-committee every two weeks
• New IOD cases
• Case management
• Preparing information and documents
• Liaise with OMP
• Book and participate in discussions with line and HR
• Book and participate weekly discussions with Chairpersons of medical panels (preparation)
• Participate in medical panels
• Follow-up on progress after medical panel
• Assist the Hygienist in conducting dust and noise investigations of the referred cases from Occupational Health Centre.
• Follow up on management plan of the investigated cases.
• Keep records and follow up on all reported occupational diseases.

This role is in the Occupational Health department on a band 8 and reports to the Superintendent OMP.

Qualifications:

You will be required to have the following: 

• Post basic National Diploma or B. Tech in Occupational Health
• Post Basic National Diploma Clinical Nursing Science 
• Registered at SANC (South African Nursing Council) 
• Registered at SASOHN
• Drivers Licence

Experience

• Case Management experience
• 5 years plus experience as a registered nurse
• Experience in Occupational Health in mining sector
