• This position reports to an Engineering Manager.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

• Identify and understand business rules and technical building blocks of a system.
• Root cause analysis of operational issues
• Analyse team needs based on current sprint / standup priorities
• Extensive documentation on operational issues
• Extensive technical documentation of business rules & system functionality
• Document complex processes on a technical level
• Translate business requirements into technical documentation
• Identify cost saving areas and system inefficiencies
• Identify and action trends within the system
• Work with all levels within the business unit to resolve issues
• Able to independently troubleshoot issues within the teams system(s)
• Setup/Build and monitor system health and operational metrics
• Prepare operations reports as a result of collecting, analysing, and summarising data and information
• Prepares end-users to utilise the system by conducting training
• Designs and documents end-user training material.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by staying abreast with latest industry trends; reviewing professional publications;
• Participates in the communication plans and strategies that drive acceptance, speed of adoption and a platform for expansion into new ideas.
• Participates in long-term and short-term data analysis with a focus on increasing productivity, lowering fixed and variable costs, and improving customer experience.
• Measure and report results regularly and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of Operational Analyst experience or equivalent of 5 years experience.
• Successfully contributed to the design, development and deployment of operational aspects on various software projects
• In-depth understanding of best practices relating to system support and monitoring
• Experience influencing a team of developers to deliver highly available and scalable services
• Understanding and experience with: Payment Gateways operations and/or Delivery / Logistics operations
• Prior experience within an e-commerce company will be beneficial
