A Basic R425 qualification (i.e., Diploma/ Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse. Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
A post – basic nursing qualification in Clinical Nursing Science Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (R48) with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with SANC in the specialty referred above. A Health Service Management or Nursing Administration qualification with duration of at least 01 year, accredited with SANC.
A minimum of 9 years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate /recognizable experience in Primary health care services, after obtaining the 1 year post basic qualification in the relevant specialty and be registered with SANC. Knowledge of code of conduct, labour relations and related policies. Ensure adherence to prescribed nursing standards and legal framework. Other Skills/requirement: Leadership, Management, planning, A valid driver’s license, Computer literacy, organizing and co-ordination skills. Knowledge of relevant acts, prescripts, policies and procedure governing health care service delivery.
Duties :
Ensure proper general management of the Primary Health Care services, personnel, clients and resources. Teach, delegate, monitor and evaluate performance / appraise personnel.
Ensure clinical practice by the clinical team in accordance with the Scope of Practice and Nursing Standards. Compile reports, analyze data, identify gaps and take remedial steps.
Ensure proper record keeping. Provide comprehensive Quality Health Care Services. Manage licensing of staff with all relevant professional bodies. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the Office of the Health Standard Compliance & Ideal clinic. Ensure community participation. Manage labour relations issues.
Ensure implementation of Government policies including Quality Priorities, Batho Pele and Patients' Rights. Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to improve services rendering. Work hand-in hand with PHC re-engineering team. Ensure management of Multidisciplinary teams within the facilities. Provide comprehensive Primary Health Care services.
Ensure effective and efficient coordination and integration of quality health care. Empower staff to prevent occurrences of Patient Safety Incident (PSI). Supervise and monitor staff performance in accordance with Performance Management and Development System (PMDS). Implement labour companionship. Oversee submission of the quality data to improve the poor performing indicators. Perform any other delegated duties.
