    Operations Specialist: Workshop

    Core Description

    Responsible for providing technical and general assistance and support to the Octane fuel pump workshop. Perform repairs on faulty equipment, ensuring that daily productivity targets are met consistently. Assist in identifying, and executing, cost effective repair methods. 

    Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

    • Maintenance, repairs and assembly 
    • Reconcile all LFD mechanical components [e.g. Nozzles, motors, pumping units & meters 
    • Repair, build & prepare LFD’s for site operation 
    • Ensure LFD’s dispatched from the workshop conforms to SANS 1020, SANAS 10378 and the Metrology Act of 1973 
    • Assist Field staff with projects & day to day operations 
    • Check & test faulty components returned by Field staff 
    • Build and/or repair forecourt & POS equipment. 
    • No follow up calls from the Customer or repeated incidents 
    • Controlling traceability of parts and LFD’s movement within workshop. 
    • Compliance to SANS 1020. 
    • HSSE Compliance 
    • Fully understand and comply with HSSE requirements 
    • Comply with PPE requirements 
    • Comply with housekeeping standards and requirements 
    • Handle hand tools and equipment with proficiency and care       
    • Reporting of unsafe conditions and incidents. 
    • Zero safety incidence 
    • Record will be held of the tools issued and a stock take will be done every two weeks. 
    • Inspection of power tools and safety equipment utilized in the workshop. 
    • Reporting defective and/or broken hand tools, power tools and safety equipment.                         
    • Maintaining good condition of tools. 
    • 100% tools stock take & accuracy 
    • Quality of Service 
    • Performing proper troubleshooting and repairs to mitigate the number of reopened calls.  
    • Assuming accountability for the quality of service as required.

    Qualifications

    • NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma
    • NQF 4: Grade 12

    Experience

    • 3 years’ experience in a pressurized technical workshop environment on fuel pumps or related field 
    • 5 years’ experience in a pressurized technical workshop environment on fuel pumps or related field
