You will be working as Operations/Supply Planner and will be the part of Motion business area for Service division based in Alrode, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Quality Manager and will be responsible to generate constrained engineering and production plan, material plan and Work In Progress (WIP) inventory rationalization incl. sales in excess of invoicing in order to improve service levels and optimize working capital
Your responsibilities
Assembling and analyzing all data pertinent to creating a constrained engineering (for Engineered-To-Order businesses) and production plan, using rough-cut and detail capacity planning and linking it to the demand plan
Running the supply review process and facilitating meeting, obtaining consensus from engineering and production managers for sign off by LBU operations manager and inputs it to the sales and operations planning process
Working with product management to influence design decisions, procurement to better align supply and sourcing strategies, demand planners to influence demand shaping activities which helps improving profit, customer service or reduce inventory
Preparing RCCP and identifying capacity constraints and recommending both short- and long-term solutions and mitigation plan to remove bottlenecks, contributing actively to a short-term planning process and connecting the operations plan with the short-term production schedule
Determining impact of plan on expected inventory levels, including sales in excess, monitoring WIP, recommending WIP rationalization initiatives and feeding them into the inventory checkbook (ICBK), identifying key root causes for deviation from the production plan
Implementing initiatives to improve adherence to plans for the future, is accountable for scheduling adherence and supply plan attainment
Ensuring planning bill of materials kept up-to-date and generating material plan based on constrained supply plan
Your background
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Minimum 5 years of experience in product knowledge of motor manufacturing processes (start to finish)
Minimum 3 years of planning and scheduling experience, value chain collaboration and day to day knowledge/experience of operation and project management experience
Knowledge of Microsoft project and/or other scheduling tools
