    Shift Leader

    • You will be working as Shift Leader and will be the part of Motion business area for Service division based in Alrode, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Quality Manager and will be responsible to supervise a shift team’s progress against work plans as defined by production management to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment and assembly lines within a production area, cooperate with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality

    Your responsibilities

    • Assisting management and shift team in allocating, coordinating, and overseeing shift orders and work plan execution within production lines during the shift, planning and budgeting of resources and logistics so as to meet business objectives and requirements and to ensure that all resources are trained with the necessary skills
    • Providing regular feedback and makes recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line, including production line organization, shifting priorities and possible critical situations, helping management implement staff movements in case of vacations, illnesses, machine outages or shifting priorities
    • Ensuring adequate staffing levels for the work to be carried out, conducting regular meetings with staff to ensure that all quality-related issues are resolved and that the mission directed works teams process is implemented
    • Ensuring that all staff in the section are aware of the quality management system requirements as it applies to them and identifying areas of training required by subordinates and initiate corrective action for discipline when required
    • Directing and coordinating the operation of the service section, serving as leader during shifts to oversee cooperation and the resolution of technical/quality problems and logistic issues

    Project Engineer

    • You will be working as Project Engineer (Hoisting Electrical) and will be the part of Process Automation business area for Process Industries division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Engineering Manager II and will be responsible to perform electrical engineering and service functions on mine winder projects and to provide technical support to customers to ensure that projects are executed using sound engineering principles and in accordance with project specifications and local legislation

    Your responsibilities

    • Performing the role of design and commissioning engineer on electrical hoisting projects and providing after-hours engineering support to customers
    • Executing engineering functions and coordinate engineering functions done by other project team members on large and/or complex projects
    • Providing platform and/or process support on large projects
    • Assisting the sales departments with technical aspects (both product and process related) during the preparation of tenders

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

    • Knowledge of electrical hoisting applications, automation systems, MCC’s, drives, HMI’s, LV / MV switchgear and protection relays

    Account Receivable Analyst

    • You will be working as Account Receivable Analyst and will be the part of Global Business Services business area for Finance Operations Services division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to GBS Finance Front Office Manager and will be responsible to drive the collection of outstanding money owing to ABB South Africa, development and implementation of collection strategies, tracking and optimizing the strategies to make sure they are relevant and effective, liaise between customer and business and resolve any queries to collect the money owing, process accounting transactions for accounts receivable (AR), credit management and customer master data in a complete, accurate and timely manner while ensuring compliance

    Your responsibilities

    • Advanced knowledge of customer and balance sheet accounts reconciliation, including complex account reconciliations (excel based), drive the collections of outstanding debt from customers
    • Have an in-depth knowledge of the assigned customer base which would result in thorough preparation of the sub ledger comments and hence debt reviews (including facilitating query resolution), maintain and update promise to pay / payment forecast schedules from customers to better manage forecasted cash flow and net working capital
    • Investigate circumstances of non-payment from customers and make every effort to reduce overdue balances through follow-ups, advanced knowledge and understanding of cash application process. Ensure all allocation of funds are performed in a timely manner and follow up and resolve unallocated receipts
    • Implement and comply with the collections strategy to reduce the past due, research and resolve issues in a manner to expedite all queries in order to avoid any adverse customer impact, issue client with payment reminders and dunning letters as necessary.
    • Responsible to respond to email /phone queries related to disputed invoices, providing customers with required documentation (e.g. supporting docs, copies of invoices, etc.) to support the receipt process, assist customers with resolving billing issues, through leading liaison with business, to resolve issues within a timely manner to ensure payments are still made on time
    • Ensure customers are not trading over their credit limits, flag high risk customer accounts which are close to credit limits with respective business to avoid blocked sales orders and regular review of client credit risk is required, where required make recommendations on credit limits
    • Timely release of sales orders, analysis of customer account and outstanding balances, where necessary propose provision for bad debts or write offs after all avenues for investigation has been exhausted, assist with ad hoc reporting request and maintain accurate records of all AR reporting and related controls
    • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with business, GBS Bangalore and customers and ensures all relevant stakeholders are aware of progress and/or issues to maximize customer satisfaction
    • Maintains open communication channels with customer and business to maximize cash collections, through customer visits and regular calls and interaction with the customers, sales, key account managers, controllers, order handlers, GBS Bangalore (business stakeholders)
    • Ensure the on-time delivery of quality service as per business requirements, daily, weekly, monthly reporting of individual portfolio to track and monitor the past dues, demonstrates a strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, planning, controlling, assurance and internal control (Customer Retention and Advances understanding is an advantage)
    • Finds opportunities and recommend solutions for process and automation improvements, manages personal performance in line with assigned KPIs, assist with internal and external audit requirements
    • Complies with and assists achieve Internal Control over Financial Reporting compliance in Accounts Receivable for applicable templates and participates in internal control testing and prepare relevant documentation (including the supply of evidence on Audit requests)

    Your background

    • B.Com Accounting and/or credit management studies
    • Minimum experience of 4 years in financial accounting experience specifically in accounts receivables
    • Sound understanding of the NCA and applicable legislation related to debt review and collections
    • Strong reconciliation and MS excel skills, strong SAP experience, strong interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation and strong user knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel skills
    • Deadline driven and ability to work with team and independently, self management capability
    • Good organization and coordination skills, process orientated and attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving ability

    Service Planning & Controls Specialist

    You will be working as Service Planning and Controls Specialist and will be the part of Process Automation business area for Process Industries division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Service Operations Manager and will be responsible to lead planning, scheduling and cost control efforts for all service project phases, maintain and analyze actual and forecasted schedules, cost and risk and monitor, report and manage deviations

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensuring service projects follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, ensuring that an integrated schedule and cost control performance measurement process for the project’s entire scope of work is provided and performing role as associate project manager for service projects executed in SAP SD module
    • Analyzing project requirements with project team, checks that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules, defining, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure
    • Developing and maintaining properly linked, required resource loaded/integrated, baseline and current schedules that provide time phased baseline, actual and forecast data for project, monitoring project progress and regularly analyzes project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifying project managers of any deviations or scheduling issues
    • Providing input for optimizing resources, issuing progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders, establishing a baseline plan for cost and cash flow performance measurement, working with project team to define the necessary resources for project completion, evaluating the work breakdown structure and standard productivity
    • Accurately monitoring costs and project cash flow, maintaining detailed estimate to complete and estimating at completion forecast, analyzing variances by using earned value management techniques and advising project management on any cost and cash flow issues arising
    • Working closely with engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, client and contractors to identify potential changes in scope and quantify the impact of each change in a timely fashion, administering the change order systems and advises the Project Manager on the cost impact of potential changes and ensures the control estimate/budget is current and reflects changes
    • Working with project team to identify and assessing the priority of project risks(e.g. schedule, cost and scope risks), maintaining the risk register and proposing mitigation plans, analyzing impact of risk on the overall timeline and costs and integrates material resource requirements with project schedule and defining procurement activities and order lead times
    • Regularly communicating with SCM team and updating schedules to ensure procurement activities take place in a timely way and lead times are optimized to meet schedule targets, participating in project reviews, composing reports and updating all required project data in Project Control systems and SAP for management information and project analysis
    • Communicating project progress and controlling issues to project management team and offering solutions, effectively communicating appropriate information to customers and other stakeholders in a timely manner to achieve desired understanding

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
    • Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience
    • Should have good communication, good interpersonal skill and coordinator experience
    • Experience in SAP, order handling and project risk management

    Operations/Supply Planner

    • You will be working as Operations/Supply Planner and will be the part of Motion business area for Service division based in Alrode, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Quality Manager and will be responsible to generate constrained engineering and production plan, material plan and Work In Progress (WIP) inventory rationalization incl. sales in excess of invoicing in order to improve service levels and optimize working capital

    Your responsibilities

    • Assembling and analyzing all data pertinent to creating a constrained engineering (for Engineered-To-Order businesses) and production plan, using rough-cut and detail capacity planning and linking it to the demand plan
    • Running the supply review process and facilitating meeting, obtaining consensus from engineering and production managers for sign off by LBU operations manager and inputs it to the sales and operations planning process
    • Working with product management to influence design decisions, procurement to better align supply and sourcing strategies, demand planners to influence demand shaping activities which helps improving profit, customer service or reduce inventory
    • Preparing RCCP and identifying capacity constraints and recommending both short- and long-term solutions and mitigation plan to remove bottlenecks, contributing actively to a short-term planning process and connecting the operations plan with the short-term production schedule
    • Determining impact of plan on expected inventory levels, including sales in excess, monitoring WIP, recommending WIP rationalization initiatives and feeding them into the inventory checkbook (ICBK), identifying key root causes for deviation from the production plan
    • Implementing initiatives to improve adherence to plans for the future, is accountable for scheduling adherence and supply plan attainment
    • Ensuring planning bill of materials kept up-to-date and generating material plan based on constrained supply plan

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in product knowledge of motor manufacturing processes (start to finish)
    • Minimum 3 years of planning and scheduling experience, value chain collaboration and day to day knowledge/experience of operation and project management experience
    • Knowledge of Microsoft project and/or other scheduling tools
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
