Ability to read and write. Basic numerical skills with an ability to adapt feed recipes. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Basic knowledge of infant feed products. Knowledge of milk kitchen hygiene practices. Basic knowledge of store keeping and stock management. Knowledge of pasteurisation of human breast milk
Appropriate experience in a hospital milk kitchen service.
General Education and Training certificate (GETC) /Grade 9 (Std 7).
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to a practical assessment. The pool of applications will be considered for vacancies within Groote Schuur Hospital, for a period of three months from the date of the advert, provided that the job title, core functions, inherent requirements, and salary level are the same as those of the advertised post.
Physically able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, packing, and pushing heavy trolleys. Willingness to work overtime on public holiday and weekends.
Production and distribution of infant formula. Processing of human milk including pasteurisation. Maintain optimal hygiene standards in the milk kitchen and store area. Basic stock taking and stock control. Perform basic administrative tasks as required within the department.
R 163,680 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
