Operator x4 at Drakenstein Municipality

JOB PURPOSE:

• Performs duties associated with the provisioning and maintaining of the flow of communication between the Central operational centre and other stakeholders (e.g. SAPS, EMS, etc.). therefore, the incumbent acts in the central communication network for the Municipality. Monitoring cameras and alarm system and dispatching of emergency services.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Grade 12
• Grade C PSIRA registered.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Must be able to compile accurate information.
• Computer Literacy (MS Office).
• Fluency in 2 of the Official Languages of the Western Cape, one of which must be English.
• Knowledge in Radion Communication procedures.
• Experience of a Call Centre / Control Room / CCTV Monitoring.
• Willing to work shifts.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills, human relations, and communication skills.
• Ability to retain composure and work accurately under pressure in emergency situations.
• Ability to work in confined area and wear a headset.
• Excellent typing skills with good eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to learn to enter information accurately and quickly on the computer system while receiving information via radio and telephone.
• Good telephone etiquette.
• Ability to give attention to detail.
• No criminal record.
