Packing & Dispense Execution Specialist at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Job Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to implement consumer innovation (CIF), TIF and Champions projects across the zone as well as implementing packaging processes and technologies to optimize performance across the zone

Key Roles and responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate, plan and implement packaging consumer innovation projects (CIF) aligned with the gloabal CQV process including transport trials and stacking trials
• Provide technical expertise on packaging materials, process and packaging equipment
• Provide deep technical expertise for technical initiatives in packaging categories (i.e.: metals, glass, etc)
• Regional interface management and execution
• Identify new packaging VE savings (VA day, scouting process, fairs, champions program, benchmark)
• Execute Value Engineering Projects to deliver bottom-line savings
• Generate packaging reduction contrubuting to better world goal
• Developing and updating of material and process standards, production scheduling, trial protocols, quality plans, new artwork, EQMS, and SAP/Acadia
• Effectively engage external parties such as Marketing, Legal, GiTec, Global & Zone
• Cross functional team support
• Interface between Zitec packaging and ZBQ for requirements (Akitec’s, PU Probes, Software and Label gauges) CIF- Innovation and Global Brand Projects
• Co-ordinate, plan and implement solutions for commercial brand teams across the zone
• Develop technical brief and detailed technical scope for Packaging Innovations
• Perform Risk assessments in accordance with Global Packaging Commissioning, Qualification and Validation Protocols (CQV) and build project timelines aligned to this
• Engage Procurement and Suppliers/OEM’s for Material and Equipment Cost and develop project budget for Packaging Scope
• Lead the technical delivery of Packaging Innovations end to end including artwork for all substrates and trials at breweries as re qui red
• Develop Standards for new materials, equipment and processes
• Give input into the updating of SAP and Quality management systems such as LIMs and EQMS
• Align through out with ZBS Packaging coordinators/specialists for smooth integration ad hand over to operations TIF –Value Engineering Projects
• Give input to-and Develop Value Engineering Opportunities for Packaging Operations and Materials across the Zone
• Deliver 1YP and 3YP value for selected substrate inclusive of scoping, engaging stake holders in Procurement, BOP’s and at Brewery Level
• Participate in Scouting and Champions work shops Substrate specialists support Substrate specialists support
• Develop and maintain deep substrate knowledge of selected field through regular interaction with Suppliers, SPOC’s in other Zones and Specialists in Global Packaging Innovation and Technology

• Geographic scope of accountability is ABInBev’s Africa business spanning 14 countries, 2 global brands, multiple zone focus brands, and in excess of 50 brands across the continent

Profile:

• Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Sciences, or Quality
• A professional individual with good written and verbal capabilities and ability to engage from Shop Floor to EBM 1 level
• Proven track record of delivery on complex projects within the FMCG/Packaging environment
• Strong interpersonal & people skills to deal with all levels of stakeholders internal and external
• Organizing , planning & controlling
• A passion for sharing and promoting organizational learning & knowledge management
• Efficient networker between departments, Zones & Global partners
• 5 + years brewery operations management experience in a large or complex manufacturing facility
• 5 + years experience in FMCG packaging as a substrate specialist and or innovation specialist
• Project Management qualification & experience would be an advantage
• A checked out Engineering, Packaging or Quality Trainee with good supply process knowledge would be an advantage
