In this role, you will be helping to provide legal practical guidance and market insight by contributing to the smooth running of the current awareness and LexisAsk services. You will be helping to source news items and to write and review legal news articles to be published on Lexis+ UK for UK legal practitioners.
Responsibilities
Tracking daily legal developments and producing high-quality current awareness articles and enhanced coverage of significant cases, particularly Supreme Court judgments.
Overseeing the LexisAsk inbox, triage incoming legal queries, and assigning them to the appropriate Practice Area teams, ensuring adherence to internal procedures.
Drafting, reviewing, and editing legal news items and customer responses, maintaining high editorial standards and ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with house style.
Sourcing, onboarding, and liaising with external legal authors and experts for contributions to news commentary, Q&A responses, and analysing content.
Genericising complex legal questions and collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts to provide authoritative, well-researched answers.
Applying internal taxonomy to all content to ensure consistency, discoverability, and alignment with content strategy.
Contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Current Awareness and LexisAsk services through process improvements and new content initiatives.
Editing and adapting externally authored articles for internal publication, ensuring relevance and suitability for the Lexis+ UK audience.
Requirements
Have a degree in Law, or equivalent experience
Demonstrate an eye for detail and a quality oriented focus
Be able to demonstrate excellent research and writing skills
Have a good understanding of legal issues, procedures and content types
Be able to think creatively, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work to strict deadlines
Be able to communicate influentially and effectively to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders
Be a natural, innovative problem solver, able to collaborate with your team to resolve issues
Have an understanding of, and willingness to use, social media and new technology
