    Part Time (50%) Lecturer

     

    Department Description        
    The Department of Occupational Therapy invites applications from skilled, innovative and self-motivated Occupational Therapists to join this dynamic and innovative department as a Part Time Lecturer in Occupational Therapy.  Applicants are required to work well in a team, and to work independently with minimal supervision
        
    Requirements:

    • A recognised undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy
    • Current registration with the HPCSA.
    • At least three years clinical experience in the field of mental health/psychiatry.
    • Experience in the clinical supervision of students.
    • Valid driver’s license  

    Preferences:

    • A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage. 
    • Public health experience would be an advantage.
    • Experience in e-Learning / online curriculum development and -teaching

    Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the development and the maintaining of standards of the undergraduate and postgraduate Problem Based Learning educational program. 
    • Teaching in occupational science and occupational therapy related to psychiatric conditions.
    • Fieldwork supervision of students in the junior and senior years.
    • Contribute to the development of the postgraduate education program as required.
    • Research supervision (PG and UG). 

    Administration and Management:

    • Contribute to the general promotion and development of the department and the profession within the school, university and community. 

    Research:

    • Develop a research profile, publish annually and contribute to the development research program.  

    Professional Development

    • Develop professional knowledge and skill as a therapist, academic and educator.
