To facilitate effective learning and teaching in Accounting modules by delivering engaging lectures, supporting student learning, managing academic resources, and ensuring alignment with institutional academic standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Deliver lectures and engage students in line with module-specific requirements and approved module pacers.
Manage academic resources, including preparing learning materials and liaising with the Information Centre for academic support.
Update and maintain content on the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring prompt communication and feedback to students.
Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback both in class and online using the LMS.
Prepare results analysis after marking assessments to track student performance and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare students for assessments, identify and support at-risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team (CAT) briefings where required.
Monitor student engagement, participation, and assessment submissions, escalating concerns to relevant academic managers where necessary.
Actively engage with emerging trends in teaching and learning strategies to enhance classroom delivery and student outcomes.
Attend and participate in academic meetings, training sessions, and faculty development workshops.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of module content, teaching practice, and overall programme quality.
Requirements:
Minimum Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Accounting or a closely related field.
Must have majored in Accounting, Taxation and Cost Accounting from first through third year at undergraduate level.
1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in Accounting.
1 to 3 years of lecturing or tutoring experience in a higher education environment.

Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
The ability to provide student support services.
The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
