Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Masters’ degree relevant to EMS
• At least five years’ recent experience in teaching EMS at school level or two years’ experience teaching EMS at tertiary level
• Some experience of teaching EMS at Intermediate Phase Level
• A relevant teaching qualification
• Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate Phase students

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• Knowledge and understanding of CAPS in the Intermediate Phase
• Knowledge and understanding of the importance and challenges of Intermediate Phase teaching in the 21st century.
• Solid grounding in the subject EMS as well as the teaching methodologies
• Experience in the planning, designing and editing of teaching and learning materials (including electronic)
• Ability to use a hybrid approach involving both on-campus and off-campus learning and teaching
