Part-time Lecturer: Social Sciences (Geography), Dept. of Intermediate Phase, Faculty of Education at Cape Peninsula University of Technology

• A Masters’ degree relevant to Social Science (Geography)
• Geography as a major subject  at Bachelors level
• A relevant teaching qualification
• At least five (5) years’ recent experience in teaching Geography at school level or two (2) years’ experience teaching Geography at tertiary level
• Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate Phase students

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• Knowledge and understanding of CAPS in the Intermediate Phase
• Knowledge and understanding of the importance and challenges of Intermediate Phase teaching in the 21st century
• Solid grounding in the subject Geography as well as the teaching methodologies
• Experience in the planning, designing and editing of teaching and learning materials (including electronic)
• Ability to use a hybrid approach involving both on-campus and off-campus learning and teaching
