    Payroll Coordinator

    SSC Group is a diversified, operating, minerals and investment company.     The main purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day payroll processing operations and related financial and legislative activities across the business and its external clients

     

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Ensure payroll data is captured and processed accurately on a monthly basis to meet the agreed deadlines
    • Capture all the hours worked including overtime, deductions, bonuses, allowances etc. Ensuring accuracy of payroll preparation, processing, payment, payroll accounting, tax filing, benefits and various third-party payments
    • Capture and ensure accuracy of various leaves on payroll system
    • Receive approval from management for payments when needed as per the policy and procedure
    • Distribute payslips to personnel either electronically or on paper
    • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors on a timely manner
    • Prepare reports for management, finance department etc.
    • Capture injury on duty claims on the Workman Compensation System and do half yearly earning declarations submission in a timely manner with regards to the contributions
    • Liaise with Medical Aid and Provident Fund and capture accordingly on payroll.
    • Secure payroll information by completing database backups and keeping information confidential.

     

    Experience

    • Solid understanding of payroll best practices with a very good knowledge of relative legislation and regulations of the field
    • Proficient in Sage VIP with at least 5 years’ experience and relative training
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and good knowledge of other relevant software
    • Experience in RMA declarations
    • Trustworthy with the ability to ensure confidentiality
    • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills with a strong work ethic
    • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility
    • Must be deadline-oriented with strong reporting skills and thoroughness
