    People Analytics Specialist

    Position Summary

    We are looking for a People Analytics Specialist to join Nestle’s team in Zone AOA. Reporting to the Head of People Analytics for AOA, you will apply concepts and techniques from statistics and social sciences to data about people, teams, and the work they perform to generate insights with which Nestle can win in the marketplace. HR and business leaders will look to you for insights and help to base management decisions on fact. You’ll support markets in their use of self-service reporting tools to generate their own insights. You’ll also provide governance and coaching on the maintenance of underlying HR data.
    The position will ideally be located in Johannesburg, South Africa or Accra, Ghana. Other locations in Sub-Saharan Africa will be considered.

    A day in the life of
    a People Analytics Specialist

    • Business-impacting People Analytics: Consult with HR and Business leaders to design, build and deliver people analytics solutions to tackle the people challenges of Nestlé businesses. Design and deliver standards, frameworks, tools, statistical models and methodology. Provide consultation and advice in people analytics applications to help answer business problems and drive future strategy.
    • Strategic People Planning: Anticipate the talent needs of markets and help them develop plans to proactively meet them. Analyze data and share results that will shape and support long-term people plans. Adapt general methodologies to specific circumstances to inform and support organizational design.
    • Capability building for HR Professionals: Being an expert on people-related data and highly capable with statistics, you’ll prepare HR professionals in markets to take advantage of People Analytics’ self-service reporting solutions. You’ll improve their readiness to incorporate data and analytical methods into their work.
    • Nestle&I Insight Strategy: Help markets identify opportunities in which employee feedback would contribute to better decision-making or business performance. Coach N&I Champions in markets to build, administer, and draw insight from employee surveys.
    • Thought Leadership & Capability Development: As you accumulate experience, you’ll see adjacent opportunities for the application of science to HR. As a member of a global team, colleagues in and across regions will look to you share your achievements, refine methods and tools, and create best practices.

    • High capacity and desire to learn
    • Curiosity for how business organizations function, how they can perform better, and the ability to formulate business-relevant questions and testable hypotheses
    • Demonstrated success translating data into insights
    • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders to turn insights into actionable people strategies
    • Stakeholder management experience at the highest organization levels
    • Ability to communicate complex statistical analysis to business leaders and HR professionals.
    • Experience applying advanced analytical techniques (both qualitative and quantitative) to solve business problems
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to circumstances, applying general methodologies and guidelines to specific situations
    • Experience and comfort working and leading projects in cross functional and geographical teams
    • Knowledge of evolving statistical and data science methods and a broad portfolio of their application to problem solving in business and HR
    • Ability to design in Power BI is desirable
    • Preference for ability to code in R
    • An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline is an advantage
    • Proficiency in English
