American Holidays are looking for a full time Personal Travel Planner to join their expanding sales team in Cape Town! This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic and looking for a new challenge in an exciting industry. Also someone who is focused to accomplish goals, results driven, resilient, and confident with the ability to establish a rapport and build relationships with customers and colleagues.
What You Will Be Doing:
Plan and create tailormade itineraries based on the customer’s requirements
Deliver exceptional service to customers providing a prompt response to queries, develop relationships and making appropriate recommendations
Answer inbound calls, emails and leads from prospective customers in an efficient manor
Proactively follow up with prospective customers by conducting outbound communication (phone and email) overcoming obstacles and converting leads into sales as we well as identifying new opportunities by upselling
Working toward sales targets with incentives
Maintain a strong awareness of the current product offering and develop that knowledge through self-development as well as opportunities to attend educational trips to our destinations
Work closely with other departments
Ownership and Accountability of own quality of work to minimise risk of errors
Provide feedback to team leaders on customers/market/ any relevant information affecting conversion.
Share knowledge among the team - feedback and present from trips
What We Are Looking For:
A passion for travel
Proven experience working as Travel Agent or Tour Operator using a GDS
Track record of exceeding sales and service targets
Highly motivated
Excellent communication skills, building strong relationships
Ability to work well under pressure meeting business targets
Strong focus striving to exceed customer expectations
Commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail
Pro-active problem solver
