Pharmacist Assistant (Post- Basic) Grade 1 to 3 at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

• Computer literacy (MS Office and pharmacy systems; WellSky/JAC advantageous). Sound knowledge of institutional pharmacy practice, medicine supply management, and Good Pharmacy Practice. Working knowledge of relevant health legislation and public-sector policies. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Physical ability to manage pharmaceutical stock and storeroom activities.

Experience:

• Grade 1: None after registration with the SAPC as Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic).Grade 2:A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Pharmacist’s Assistant after registration as a Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post Basic) with the SAPC. Grade 3: A minimum of 13 years’ appropriate experience as Pharmacist’s Assistant after registration as a Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post Basic)with the SAPC.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the South African Pharmacy Council(SAPC) as Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) Institutional or Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post Basic)
