Plant Assistant - Secunda at PPC Africa

Job Advert Summary

• To perform specific activities at the Ready-Mix plant to make production of pre-mixed concrete possible
• Must be flexible and be able to perform any other duty assigned to him/her that are reasonable and lawful to the best of his/her ability

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Internal general plant operations tasks
• Ability to read and write
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Plant Assistant
• Must be strong and healthy and able to perform physical demanding activities
• Must have good eyesight
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must work overtime as and when needed
• Work in outside environment with lots of dust

Duties and Responsibilities

• Must inspect the conveyor and bins to ensure that there is no raw materials and any other material, wood, metal, plastic or paper objects on the conveyor or in the bins.
• During loading and production, he/she must inspect the Plant to ensure that loading / Production is done smooth and without stoppages.
• If he/she sees any problems at the plant, then it must be reported immediately to the Plant Supervisor / Batcher
• The Plant Assistant is responsible for the cleaning of the plant
• Must be flexible and be able to perform any other duty assigned to him/her that are reasonable and lawful to the best of his/her ability
